Pete Redfern has full operational responsibility for Taylor Wimpey.
He was appointed as a Director of Taylor Wimpey plc and to the post of Group Chief Executive in July 2007 following the merger George Wimpey and Taylor Wimpey. Prior to the merger he was Group Chief Executive of George Wimpey Plc and before that successively held the posts of Finance Director and Chief Executive of George Wimpey's UK Housing business.
Pete is a Chartered Accountant and prior to joining George Wimpey he was Finance Director for Rugby Cement.
Ryan has full responsibility for the financial operations of Taylor Wimpey.
Appointed as a Director and to the post of Group Finance Director in November 2010, Ryan joined Taylor Wimpey in April 2009 as Group Financial Controller.
Previously, Ryan was Group Financial Controller of Mondi Group for five years, playing a key part in the demerger from Anglo American plc, and prior to this he held various senior finance roles with the Anglo American plc group of companies.
James is responsible for the corporate governance and legal affairs of the Group.
A solicitor, James was appointed Group Legal Director and Company Secretary, on 21 July 2011 prior to which he was Group Company Secretary and General Counsel, a position he had held since the merger. Previously he had held the same position with George Wimpey Plc, since his appointment in February 2002. Before joining the Group, James held senior legal and company secretary roles in industry which included positions with The Rugby Group Plc and English China Clays Plc.
Peter’s principle role is overseeing Land Acquisition for the company as well as day to day management of Land & Planning Department, Board responsibility for Legal Department, Sustainability, Political Lobbying and Public Relations, Planning and other ancillary operational matters.
He has considerable experience gained in both general and site specific management over the years – Initially undertaking the roles of Quantity Surveyor, Technical Manager and Land Manager; later as Regional Managing Director; and now as UK Board Director. Peter was a member of the NPPF Practitioners Advisory Group to the Minister for Planning and Decentralisation – Greg Clark.
Peter is director of a number of Taylor Wimpey subsidiaries.
Maria has responsibility for all aspects of the Group's resourcing, employee relations, learning and development.
Maria joined George Wimpey in 2004 after completing an MBA and was promoted to Group HR Director in 2006. Previously was HR Director for Taylor Woodrow’s UK housing and property divisions, and before that held roles in Operations Management as well as Training and Development with large retail and pharmaceutical companies. She leads our people and skills strategy, focusing on attracting, developing, motivating, and retaining the best people in the industry. Key areas of emphasis for Maria include ensuring that we reward well for excellence and that we achieve competitive advantage through fully developing the potential of our diverse workforce.
Peter has full day to day responsibility for the operations of the Southern Division of the UK Housing business, as well as Taylor Wimpey Spain.
Peter joined Wimpey Homes Southampton in 1984 as a trainee, progressing to Land Negotiator and, in 1990, was promoted to Senior Land Manager. In 1996, Peter joined Wimpey Homes West London, before becoming Development Director at George Wimpey East Midlands and then Managing Director of George Wimpey Manchester. Peter was subsequently appointed Divisional Managing Director for the Midlands, and for the South of England. In 2007 he became the Divisional Chairman for the Southern division within Taylor Wimpey, with operational responsibility for 14 Business units. In 2011, Peter assumed the additional responsibility for the Spanish Housing business.
Fergus has full day to day responsibility for the operations of the Northern Division of the UK Housing business.
Fergus joined George Wimpey West Scotland in 1988 as a Company Accountant, rising to Regional Finance Director for that Business Unit and then Managing Director. In 2005 Fergus was promoted to Divisional Managing Director for North of the UK for George Wimpey, subsequently being appointed Divisional Chairman of the Northern Division within Taylor Wimpey in 2007, with operational responsibility for 10 Business Units, Prestoplan and TW Logistics. Fergus is a Chartered Accountant.
